I art-directed the creation of this book and designed it for a private residence in Boca Raton at the request of the owner, who wanted to capture the poetic beauty of their new home. The book features three key elements of the interior decor, highlighting them as symbols of the residence. I directed the photoshoot with Sargent Architectural Photography to ensure precise angles and settings. Additionally, I contributed to the copywriting, further enriching its content.
I incorporated several exquisite details into this book, such as die-cuts and semi-transparent pearlescent vellum paper with subtle outlines of the underlying photography throughout. The use of foil printing and embossing further accentuates the design elements, making it a captivating coffee-table book. The intricate photographs seamlessly blend the interior design elements with the surrounding landscaping and views from the garden, offering readers a visually rich experience.
I identified three distinctive elements within this household that served as a foundation for unifying all contents of this book. Through carefully crafted illustrations, these symbolic elements of the residence were integrated to capture the essence of the place and create a cohesive design narrative throughout.
Each illustration was designed to reflect the unique characteristics and atmosphere of the residence. By incorporating these elements into the book's layout and narrative, I aimed to enhance the reader's understanding and appreciation of the home's aesthetic and thematic coherence.
Die-cuts and elegant lettering are pivotal in creating visual intrigue and engaging the viewer. By pairing a floating script font with a modest Serif font, and strategically counterposing zoomed-in elements against an overall panoramic look, the design achieves a harmonious balance of sophistication and allure. These elements not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of the book but also invite readers to explore its contents with a sense of curiosity and appreciation for the intricate details woven throughout.
