For this project, I used a lampshade form as a metaphor for a welcome home feeling, for stressing that a home should be a safe, calm, comfortable place. The lamp connection also serves as a symbolic lighthouse of hope in the midst of the stormy or calm ocean. The combination of light and paper always attracted me as a powerful tool to address emotions and feelings
Having a possibility to experiment with different textures, patterns, light bulb colors, and papers, I had a lot of excitement, working and meditating on this project.
Working on this project during the pandemic when everybody suddenly realized the preciousness and fragility of the family, was giving me hope to fully realize what family and home mean in my life.
