The Street of Dreams book reveals the story of Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach, Florida. I enjoyed working on this project, which highlights the stories of local residents and business owners. The book features artwork by the prominent Delray artist Joe Davis, local stories written with mesmerizing gusto, and photographs of local attractions. It was presented to the public at Hand's, one of the oldest local books and crafts stores in Delray Beach, founded in 1934. The book sold out so quickly that I didn’t get a chance to purchase a copy for myself. I was fortunate and grateful to receive two copies from the printers with whom I worked on this project.
Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach is the oldest street in one of the oldest towns in South Florida. Due to its almost legendary status (on a Florida time scale), Atlantic Avenue has a distinctive and unique flair, as well as fascinating stories about many of its buildings and businesses. These stories include a real ghost that was transported with a pub from Ireland at the beginning of the century, and the oldest custom-sewing trouser company located on Atlantic Avenue. Along with these stories, the book is filled with photos and artworks featured on fold-outs printed on canvas-imitating paper, giving them an authentic artwork appearance.
↑ This book contains my maiden name—Tanya Delektorskaya (I am now Tanya iudean). The inclusion of the designer's name on the work is a recognition that commercial graphic designers don’t often receive. However, this time, I was thrilled to see my name featured on a page of the book. I am deeply thankful for this opportunity and honored to have been acknowledged in such a meaningful way.
Recently, I was pleasantly surprised to find this book, which I designed, on eBay, where its price has risen significantly. The book was printed as a limited edition, and its collectible value naturally increases over time. I’m thrilled to see that it has become a commercial success and am grateful for the recognition it continues to receive. ↓
