Tatyana iudean DELektorskaya

I possess a multifaceted professional background as a passionate educator and a skilled graphic designer, demonstrating a proficiency across various genres of graphic and multimedia design. I am in my last year of MFA in Graphic Design program in Florida Atlantic University. I am working as an adjunct professor and as an art director at the intersection of book arts, web, interactive media and graphic design.

I teach courses on web design and coding focusing on the current graphic design trends as well as classic approaches to layout and typography, with the emphasis on responsive coding with HTML, CSS and JavaScript. I am involved in developing the methodology that would increase coding understanding and familiarity with HTML and CSS of my graphic design students. Since I introduced fun and meditative approaches into my teaching, such as coding games and challenges, I have noticed that the element of play and meditation allows students to learn and understand coding better.

My current academia research is focused on the connection of design and meditation for the richer experience and extending of their meanings. The bridge between book arts and meditation lies in all the possibilities to encourage mindfulness and creative expression. Both practices offer opportunities for quiet self-discovery and the exploration of the inner world, and united they amplify the potential of each other.
